“Build Your Throne” Workshop

HEAP Bozeman

HEAP BozemanJoin Us

Create one-of-a-kind thrones from rescued chairs while learning to up-cycle and upholster with HEAP Bozeman and Living Home Furniture.  Join us for this fun pair of workshops where you’ll give old chairs new life and support HEAP’s educational programs at the same time.

The workshops in duet will be an up-cycling workshop and an upholstery basics workshop, simultaneously creating fanciful, up-cycled chair designs and remade, re-upholstered seats to match. The reunion of an up-cycled chair and its seat at the end of the workshop will complete each ‘throne’.

Rescued Chairs for UPcycling

Upholstery instruction and hands on participation

Living Home Furniture’s Carla Pyle will help you use simple tools & techniques to replace dining chair seats. You will learn creative re-upholstery as we restore a variety of chair seats using rescued materials. Seat designs are pre-determined, and we’ll practice on samples before diving into the ‘real thing’.

HEAP Bozeman’s Anna Hernandez will guide you in the creative up-cycling of our rescued chairs with post-consumer products using collage techniques, paint and more.
